Pillar 9 of 10

🔒

Digital Rights, Information Integrity & Right to Privacy

In an increasingly digital world, protecting individual privacy and ensuring information integrity is crucial. This pillar focuses on enacting robust privacy laws, ensuring algorithmic accountability, protecting against data breaches, and maintaining net neutrality and secure elections.

Key Principles

Constitutional Privacy & Data Protection

Enact laws recognizing an individual’s right to control their personal data. Mandate explicit consent, data minimization, default encryption, and strict privacy for healthcare, education, and research data.

Algorithmic Accountability & Breach Protections

Require transparency and meaningful appeal for automated decision systems, including AI. Mandate prompt breach notifications and provide free identity theft protection. Ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI systems to prevent bias, discrimination, and misuse. Protect individuals from AI-driven surveillance and data exploitation.

Net Neutrality & Secure Elections

Enforce net neutrality and regulate or break up monopolistic broadband providers. Implement paper-trail voting with risk-limiting audits to ensure election security.

Secular Oversight

Create an independent Federal Privacy Commission to oversee and enforce privacy standards.

Media Monopoly Control & Free Press

Break up oligopolistic media conglomerates and enforce antitrust laws to prevent further consolidation. Mandate transparency in media ownership and funding sources. Fund independent, community-based, and BIPOC-led media outlets to ensure diverse perspectives and voices. Protect freedom of the press from government and corporate censorship, including whistleblower protections for journalists and legal recourse for those silenced. Publish annual ‘Free Press Audit’ to monitor progress and pushback.
